The Confusion Is Understandable
"Detailing" means different things to different people. Some shops use "basic detail" to mean a glorified car wash. Others use "full detail" to describe a two-day paint correction job. There's no industry-standard definition — which makes it hard to know what you're actually getting when you book.
Here's how the services break down at Macked Detailing, and more importantly, how to figure out which one your car actually needs.
The Three Main Tiers
1. Exterior Wash + Spray Wax — $50–$85
This is the entry-level service, but it's not a drive-through car wash. It's a proper hand wash done at your location.
What's included:
- Pre-rinse and foam cannon pre-wash
- Hand wash with pH-neutral soap
- Wheel and tire cleaning
- Rinse and hand dry with microfiber
- Spray wax applied for 30-day protection
- Windows cleaned outside
- Tire shine applied
- Door jambs wiped
What it doesn't include: The interior. This is an exterior-only service. If your car is dirty inside, this won't touch it.
How long it takes: About 1 hour.
Who it's for: Regular maintenance. If your car is generally clean inside and you just want the outside looking sharp and protected, this is the right call. Most Tucson drivers should be doing this every 2–4 weeks.
2. Interior Super Clean — $140–$180
This is the interior-only counterpart. It goes deep — not just a vacuum and a quick wipe.
What's included:
- Full interior vacuum (seats, carpets, floor mats, trunk)
- Dashboard, console, and door panel wipe-down
- All vents cleaned and blown out
- Leather and vinyl conditioning
- Seat stain treatment
- Glass cleaned inside (streak-free)
- Fragrance finish
What it doesn't include: The outside of the car. This is cabin-focused.
How long it takes: 2–4 hours depending on vehicle size and condition.
Who it's for: Cars that need interior attention — pet owners, parents, anyone who eats in their car, or vehicles that have been sitting and picked up that stale-air smell. In Tucson's heat, dust gets into vents and upholstery faster than most people expect.
3. Full Service Detail — $180–$250
This is everything. Interior and exterior done in one visit — everything in the two services above, plus a few extras you only get with the full package.
What's included:
- Everything in the Interior Super Clean
- Everything in the Exterior Wash + Spray Wax
- Engine bay wipe-down (light cleaning)
- Trunk vacuumed and cleaned
- All glass cleaned inside and out
- Final walk-around inspection
How long it takes: 4–5 hours. Book in the morning, have your car back by the afternoon.
Who it's for: Cars that need a complete reset — after a road trip, when you're selling, when you just moved to Tucson and the car picked up grime on the way, or as a seasonal deep clean before or after monsoon season.

A Note on Add-Ons
Two things that aren't included by default but can be added to any service:
Ozone Odor Treatment (+$25) — Eliminates smoke, pet, and food smells at the molecular level. Not a cover-up. If your car has a smell that doesn't go away, this is the fix.
Pet Hair Removal (+$50) — Embedded pet hair takes real time to extract properly. If you have a dog, this is usually worth it.
Which One Does Your Car Need?
The honest answer:
- Only dirty outside? → Exterior Wash + Spray Wax
- Only dirty inside? → Interior Super Clean
- Dirty inside and out? → Full Service Detail
- Selling the car? → Full Service Detail, and consider Paint Correction if the paint has swirls or oxidation
- Just moved to Tucson? → Full Service Detail to start fresh, then maintain with regular exterior washes
